A shoreline habitat
The district governor’s account names the shores of Çelebibağı, Kasımbağı, Gölağzı and Tekevler as places used by migratory birds. Flamingos are among the most recognisable; egrets, grey herons and ruddy shelducks are also recorded.
The description “bird paradise” refers to life across the shoreline, rather than a single fixed viewing point. The shallows and adjoining wetlands belong in the same picture.
A seasonal scene
The district’s description associates the arrival of flamingos with spring. Numbers and viewing locations change with the season, water and conditions. Each visit can reveal a different scene along the shore.
Watch slowly, from a distance
Binoculars offer a way to notice details without approaching the birds. Watch how they hold their necks, move through the water and space themselves apart. Stay quietly in one place rather than trying to make a flock take flight for a photograph.
Even a short, low-impact visit can change how the lake looks to you. Water that appeared simply blue in a photograph becomes a habitat shared by many living things.
