From Van Airport to Erciş
Landing at Van Ferit Melen Airport and arriving in Erciş are two separate stages. Allow for landing, baggage collection and your onward departure. When arranging transport, ask whether pickup is at the terminal or in Van city centre, and where you will be dropped in Erciş. A service into Van is not automatically a direct connection to Erciş.

Your first day off
Give yourself time to learn the everyday layout of the centre. Then plan a lakeside visit or a cultural stop around the weather and transport. You do not need to see everything in your first week.
