A place to discover. A place called home.
This project began with someone from Erciş wanting to share their hometown. It welcomes first-time visitors and people who have missed it for years.
What belongs here?
The landscape, history and culture of Erciş, alongside useful everyday information. Short stories to get closer to a place, real photographs to remember it, and direct links to the institutions you need.
An independent publication
ercis.info is not a government, municipal or news agency website. It does not promise daily reporting. Links to institutions help readers reach the original source and do not imply a partnership.
Sources and currency
Each article lists its sources and editorial review date. Folklore is distinguished from documented history, and uncertainty is kept visible. English pages are counterparts of our own writing, not official translations.
Photographs and locations
The photography page records locations, known dates, photographers and licenses. A different shore of Lake Van is not labelled as Erciş, and historical photographs are not presented as current views.

There are no accounts or comment forms. We use cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages people read and how quickly the site loads.
